A multi-disciplinary practitioner with nearly 20 years of implant experience, Dr Yong is an expert in full mouth rehabilitation with his vast knowledge in prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontal and oral surgery.
In 2013, he was one of the few pioneer dentists in Malaysia to establish a full scale digital dental lab with three master technicians from Europe. This ensures that every production of veneer, crown and implant prosthesis meets the highest quality that SmileBay has set in place. Today, the digital dental lab is operated by six talented local technicians handling cases from Dr Yong and SmileBay’s team of dentists to deliver natural looking prosthesis with precise fitting and fast production, at times within the same day!
Dr Yong has been trained by various implant professionals upon completion of the Maxi-Course by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, one of the renowned implant course in the US. In 2006, he began his implant journey with the world’s leading implant brand, Straumann Implant. His relentless pursuit to upskill in implantology steered him into completing the Comprehensive Implant Training from University of Southern California, USA. He has since successfully placed more than 5,000 implant prostheses over the past 18 years. In recent years, Dr Yong administers advanced bone grafting and implant placement such as All-On-4 implants for patients with severe bone loss. He is an expert in sinus graft, thin alveolar ridge bone graft and treatment of implant complications.
His passion in dentistry and vision to provide world class facilities and services to his patients lead him to form SmileBay group in 1999. Today, he dedicates his time mainly to implant clinical practice and training his dentists while his capable management team runs the group.
A dentist with excellent bedside manners, filled with empathy and constantly finding solutions to help his patients no matter the difficulty of a situation are the phrases his patients would use to describe Dr Yong.
His philosophy stands with health and function supersedes cosmetic purposes. His greatest satisfaction is to witness his patients eating well and enjoying life to the fullest.

With more than 20 years of experience in dentistry, Dr Tan is extremely efficient in managing routine general cases such as scaling, filling and extraction, and particularly proficient in wisdom tooth removal.Her patients take satisfaction in her painless approach, maintaining comfort and concise treatments on the dental chair. Dr Tan is also known to tackle complex extractions with accuracy and speed.She enjoys building long-term relationships with her patients and always welcomes them for routine check-ups and hygiene appointments every six months.

Dr Chew is the resident orthodontic expert at SmileBay Dental, having completed her mini-residency in Orthodontic & Dentofacial Orthopaedic.
Orthodontic treatments are second nature to her with over 1000 orthodontic cases. Dr Chew believes that having an open conversation allows patients to prepare for their dental journey and understand the best option while treatment planning.
She is also SmileBay Dental’s certified Invisalign Provider.

Saving the natural tooth whenever possible encapsulates Dr Liew’s philosophy. A driven practitioner, Dr Liew skillfully handles comprehensive root canal treatments and crown placements.
Over the years, Dr Liew developed a special interest in endodontic treatments. By performing endodontic procedures using the Zeiss Microscope, Dr Liew is able to provide safe and accurate treatments while conducting manipulations with root canals.
Her view of dentistry extends beyond merely an occupation but rather, an artistry that she is extremely passionate about.

As such, she has successfully undergone the McGann Implant and Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (USA), along with orthodontic and clear aligner therapy.

Dr Oon is a seasoned dentist with a special interest in minor oral surgery, having served extensively in Hospital Seberang Jaya and various government clinics in Seberang Jaya, Bukit Mertajam and Berapit prior to joining SmileBay. Her experience in minor oral surgery comes in handy as she particularly enjoys performing wisdom tooth surgery along with anterior restorations.
For Dr Oon, health is wealth, and she takes pride in ensuring the quality of her treatments. With her gentle hand and repeated assurance, she informs her patients the steps of the treatments so that patients are always at ease throughout their dental journey.
